Frederick F. Carriere

Carriere is a former research professor of political science and director of the Korean Peninsula Affairs Center in the Maxwell School at Syracuse University. Currently, he is a consultant on North Korea for the American Broadcasting Corporation and a senior fellow of the Los Angeles-based Pacific Century Institute. For several years, he was a visiting professor in the Center for International Security and Cooperation at Stanford University. His other professional experience includes a 30-year career as an administrator in the nonprofit sector, first as the executive director of the Fulbright Program in Seoul, Korea and later as the executive vice president of The Korea Society in New York City. Carriere has been involved in developing and administering educational and scientific engagement projects as well as Track II meetings with DPRK partners since the mid-1990s.
